surgery for a pinched sciatic nerve about 18 months ago.  Although that
pain is gone, I do still have some pain in my back and yoga really

I wanted to tell you how much my family enjoyed the beginner series.
Also, Kayleigh did a GREAT job teaching the last class! As far as continuing with yoga, I would certainly consider any restorative classes that focused on physical improvement of back problems and ways of breathing into and embracing chronic pain.
Until then I will need to stick to the 101 classes and continue to assess which modifications I need. I am definitely still working on listening to my body and discerning what helps and what may be too much at this time.
BTW..we really love Richard’s Thursday night class too!

I just had to take a moment to tell you that I am so glad that you encouraged me to sign on for 6 months. I have truly enjoyed all the different avenues of fitness you have offered and continue to offer. I think good instructors make the difference in keeping people coming back for more and you have no doubt selected the best instructors. This morning was the first time I’ve taken a class by Irene and I loved it! She mentioned you may be adding a belly dancing class? I hope so, that would be icing on the cake for me:D It’s nice to see the various classes you offer in this area. People usually think of North Dallas to get this kind of fitness and fun but we now have it SE of Dallas!!

Hello my friend!  I am doing well, thank you for your message   I went to Bruce’s Thursday night class last week, and it was most challenging, yet cleansing.  I needed a jump start back into my groove.  I am struggling to learn the art of self discipline, of which I’ve come to realize, is an area in which I am very weak.  However, I believe tenacity will prevail on my journey to discover the key to unlock this vital behavior.  (Suggestions welcome! LOL)  I admire you very much, and even though we haven’t known each other long, want you to know your spirit is a shining beacon of warmth, love and peace.  I look forward to learning much with you.

I have been doing yoga for 1 ½ years.  I always wanted to try it but never got around to enroll in a class.  My excuses were I was too busy, did not have the right clothes, equipment, etc, etc, etc.
Out of the blue, my doctor informed me that I had high blood pressure.  I guess as we get older things just creep up on us.  He was going to prescribe blood pressure pills which I did not want.  The only medications I take now are vitamins and calcium.  He then suggested I take up yoga.
I’m 68 years old and I could lose some weight.  I haven’t been able to lose the weight but I feel good just doing yoga; if I miss a yoga class, I feel guilty.  My blood pressure has come down; my balance has improved tremendously and my arms and legs are stronger.  Also my posture has improved.
Over all, I feel that yoga has helped me in more ways than just my blood pressure problem.
Oh, all you need is a matt and if you’re just going to try out yoga, I’m sure that a matt can be provided.

OK…so I had to share my recent experience at Dynamic Yoga and Fitness Studio in Red Oak.
I almost was on the verge of tears last Thursday night while Bruce instructed us to take it to a further level. I’d had a emotional and stressful day already, but when I walked in the studio I knew it was going to be a night of progress. I was ready to let go of the day’s stress and push myself just a little bit farther.
The last 10 – 15 minutes, I think I was in some kind of pigeon position, but not sure. My entire core (hip area), opened up further allowing me to release the emotional stress of the day, tears came to my eyes and I felt confidence, peace and joy! I’m so glad that my sister invited me to come to Dynamic Yoga on January 1st and make the commitment! I’m seeing results!! Thanks Bruce & Lisa!

Bootcamp

I honestly don’t know where to start. I have really enjoyed this boot camp. I had really mixed feelings about joining it and being able to keep up with the rest of the class. Eric’s kind leadership and motivation is what helped me follow through with each hard exercise. The first class I was not able to complete a sit up or even fully do a push up correctly. He dedicated a whole fifteen minutes to teaching us how to do a push up correctly and ways to make it easier on us. I don’t dread doing the push ups anymore at all. He listens to all of the classes  input during each certain work out. I feel that he genuinely cares about us being able to reach our fitness goals. I have had many trainers in my life and never did I ever feel that any of them were truly sincere. Eric succeeded at all the areas they lacked. I have had times where I was putting little effort in my run, Eric would run with me, his persistent motivation helped made me want to run faster and forget how much I truly hated running. He also taught me to breathe correctly in order for my runs to be more efficient.  In fact running is not a problem for me anymore, I have noticed that I am able to run more and more without feeling exhausted. Honestly I can’t put in words how much I enjoyed this class. I am very sad it is ending and hoping that I am given the opportunity to do it again. I wish I had taken a picture at the beginning of the six weeks because I had lost 32lbs before I started but not many people noticed until I started the bootcamp. My arms, stomach, and legs look dramatically different. I have  recommended boot camp specifically this one because of my positive experience with Eric’s leadership. I plan to re enroll in any boot camp that is available with Eric as the instructor…Thank you for your time…..Feda Rashid


Per your request I am sending you my review of the Boot Camp I have been attending with our instructor Eric Shaw.
This has been a very challenging experience for me.  I have been going to the gym for many years now.  Sometimes giving it my best effort and sometimes not.  I do not have a “buddy” that I meet there or that I work out with.  I have gone in spurts of going 3 times per week but generally go once or twice per week.  I have slowly gained weight over the course of 5 years or so, some of it stemming from a back injury of L4/L5 which required surgery. (Which I have completely recovered from!)
When I went to the pre-trial for the Boot Camp, I felt like it was going to be too hard for me and I really didn’t want to do it.  Getting up at 4:30 and needing to be at work at 7:30 really didn’t sound appealing.  I felt like it would really be a push not to be late for work. Which in reality I was probably just looking for excuses to talk myself out of signing up. But for some reason I knew this was an opportunity for me to start to get back in better shape and feel good, so I signed up anyway.
This has been a great experience for me.  For the first time ever I ran a mile, then two miles.  I did so at a very slow pace (ask Eric) but never the less, I actually did it.  Eric has the ability to push you but also make you believe that you can do it, that it is within your reach.  He helps you do exercises correctly and helps you when you need to make adjustments without making you feel like it is criticism.  He has a good sense of humor and has words of encouragement for everyone.
I now look forward to 4:30 in the morning three days per week and find myself waking up the other days around that time wondering if today is one of the days I am going to Boot Camp.
I would recommend this class to anyone of any fitness level and also feel like it was affordable.  Everyone in the class has been encouraging and fun to be with and I think Eric’s attitude has made this possible. He has created this atmosphere that we are all in this together.
Thanks Lisa for making this class possible.  I would be interested in another Boot Camp to follow this one.
